We were born married to her.
For better or worse, we were bound together for life.
When we were young, we played together, and she gave us so much joy.
As we aged, she told us what she needed, but we ignored her. Her needs didn't matter.
As she grew more and more discontent, she gave us warning signs but, still, we pursued our own dreams and chased the money we needed.
Instead of listening to her, we listened to people who told us money was all that mattered.
And when she had had enough, she stopped supporting us.
Like all her tantrums, we decided this too shall pass.
She dug in her heels and demanded we pay attention to her.
We continued to ignore her, and we justified our harm because we couldn't understand her, and we thought work and money mattered more than what she needed.
Then she made our home so uncomfortable we couldn’t stand it.
We continued to ignore her, so she thought, "I must do something to get their attention!"
She refused to give us sustenance. Still, we refused to listen.
She sighed and questioned why she had supported and believed in us for so long.

She made our homes uncomfortable, stopped providing for us, washed away the foundations of our lives, took away our nourishment, but no matter what she did, we paid no attention because we thought she was there to serve us.
We continued to ignore her. She has grown tired of us, so she stomped her foot, and our entire home shook, from the mountains to the shores; everything crumbled.
Mother Earth is done with this relationship!
